The Family is Also Where We Learn Hate, Rage, and Shame?

This article was originally only supposed to be my journal. I have decided to post it here, for the arguments herein presented constitute an important part of my ideology (in the broader sense of the term), and I believe it is among “the least unworthy of being offered to the public”.

The journal was written as an answer to a topic question, which I now reiterate for the sake of contextualisation:

According to social critic Barbara Ehrenreich, “At best, the family teaches the finest things human beings can learn from one another—generosity and love. But it is also, all too often, where we learn nasty things like hate and rage and shame.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why or why not?

I have no knowledge about Barbara Ehrenreich, nor have I done any research regarding her opinion. Therefore, I took the liberty of answering according to the literal meaning of her statement.

My answer is as follows.

  The family is the cradle of humanity. In Rousseau’s words, it is the first society, where parents selflessly provide for the living of their children, receiving only love in return. Indeed, the family nurtures the development of fine qualities such as generosity and love, which are what make this world a beautiful place to live in. It is quite apparent to see how the family could become the source of generosity and love: parents are individuals of liberty, bonded together by nothing but their own will; and it is love that makes them willing to become united. Parents share their belongings, their affections, even their lives with each other. What could be more generous than giving everything one has to the other half? Similarly, as soon as they have a child, the child naturally receives the same kind of devotion for being the embodiment of their love to each other. The upbringing of the child also requires the parents to share what they have with him/her, at least until the child can provide for his/her own preservation and become independent, wherefrom they and the child remain united “no longer naturally, but voluntarily.”

【變動】本BLOG已暫停翻譯更新

從2011年12月始至2013年11月止,我已經持續在這個BLOG上PO出日文歌詞的翻譯約兩年了。
如ABOUT中所述,這個BLOG既是我的個人翻譯資料庫,也是為了方便其他對歌詞有興趣的人。
歌詞翻譯作為我的個人愛好,我前前後後在其中也投入了大約5年的時間。
很幸運地,最初的愛好帶領我踏入了語言學研究的大門。而我那不成熟的翻譯理論,同樣隨著時間的推移而不斷改變。
兩年多以來我一直恪守著基於解構的「形式對照」原則;我堅信其之正確性,並不斷嘗試尋找對這一理論的佐證。
然而,在最近這數個月,一些事件的發生促使我不得不站在方法論的角度懷疑這一原則的可行性。
在找到下一步的答案之前,我無法繼續將一些已完成的翻譯PO出來,也無法繼續進行新的歌詞翻譯。
因此,本BLOG必須要暫停翻譯更新一段時間(其實從去年12月起就已經實際暫停了)。

但是我想,這一個迷茫的過程很快就會過去的!:)
同時,為了幫助自己盡快找到答案,我決定接下來要進行「Windpaths翻譯保存計劃」~XD
她的翻譯一直以來都是被我當作範本看待的。但很可惜地,我並沒有好好研究過她所有的翻譯。
為了讓那些優美的作品在未來某天不至於消失無踪,我想要在這裡給它們安一個家~(笑)

【器材測試】16-105與50 1.4的微距能力

買了新耳機總是想要拍幾張有「質感」的照片。XD
雖然MDR-1R是大半隻塑膠,但是SONY特有的「金屬材質塑膠」也是很有質感的。XDDDD
主要還是想測試下16-105和50 1.4的微距能力,以及A700的微距對焦能力。
以前的18-55小鏡頭微距能力很不錯,18-250就不怎麼樣。
雖然曾經有想過買50 Macro,但現在這隻50 1.4既然已經陰差陽錯地在我手上了,就應該好好利用一下,不要再浪費錢在相同焦段上了。XD

    An Old/New Camera

I was using SONY A550, a DSLR camera that was released at Q3 2009. I bought this camera in February 2010, precisely, 16 Feb. 2010. So I’ve been using this camera for exactly 3 years and 6 days.

Early as 2 years ago, I’d been planning to upgrade my camera. The A550 is an entry-level model. Though called “advanced entry-level”, it is still entry-level. As I enhanced my photography skills, I could gradually sense that this camera can no longer meet my growing standards.

It’s a good camera. I mean, at that time it has above par performance and reasonable price. And some features, like dual live view, 7 fps continuous shooting speed, gave it once a big advantage over its opponents——the entry-level DSLRs of Nikon and Canon. However the entry-level is such a thing, that as you do better over time, you will always find a reason to upgrade from it. It is just as the saying goes: Every photographer is a prodigal. The only thing that differs is how you persuade yourself to spend more money.

At that time such an upgrade seemed to be unrealistic. My only possible choice in the same system was SONY A700, an old mid-range camera that was released at Q3 2007, which stopped production just before A550 came out (The mid-range area of SONY was then left blank for more than two entire years until A77 was released. It’s really a strange strategy for a DSLR manufacturer). This means I could not get a brand new A700. But more importantly, I could not spend so much money in such a short period. I spent around 50 thousand NTD on my A550&lenses. And an A700 body, if brand new, will cost another 30 thousand, which was unacceptable.

呆丸圈圈繞,屁孩滿地跑。

也不知道為什麼會取這個標題。。。
很有馮光遠的風格啊。XD
屁孩就是我啦。
這個寒假繞著鬼島轉了一圈,帶著A550和RX100。
結果多數時間天氣都不太好,導致沒有什麼好的風景照。
這次出去玩也是A550的最後一次服役,現在A700取代了它的位置。
乾脆學KEY社,來個MEMORIAL EDITION好了。XD

【敗家】CLANNAD メモリアルエディション & CLANNAD ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

以前在朋友的推薦下,看了CLANNAD京阿尼版動畫。
看完動畫後,開始想玩遊戲。
玩遊戲時又想買OST。。。(遊戲是下載盜版的)
雖然OST被我從遊戲的音樂檔案裡提取出來了,不買也有得聽。
但是這部作品我真的很喜歡,感覺不買下來對不起自己的良心。(我有良心?)

於是在忍痛出走了數張小朋友後,終於把遊戲和OST都抱回家了~XDD
收到包裹的時候超激動的;激動到把Amazon的包裝箱和收據都開心地扔到垃圾桶裡了。
因此這篇文就不是開箱,而是開盒~@_@

【大量圖檔】Minecraft階段總結

注意:這篇文章並不會告訴你任何有實際意義的內容或者教程,它只是我自己玩Minecraft的亂PO圖+碎碎唸。

玩Minecraft也有好一段時間了,砍掉終界龍之後,我想,這個遊戲的進程大概可以緩一緩。
於是想對遊戲做一個總結,雖然說我不是什麼職業玩家,但在這個遊戲裡也投入了不少時間,自我安慰一下還是有必要的(笑)。
另外,在WordPress上編輯大量文章的圖檔(誤)大量圖檔的文章還真的是超級麻煩,抱怨下。

  秋水時至,百川灌河,涇流之大,兩涘渚崖之間,不辯牛馬。於是焉河伯欣然自喜,以天下之美為盡在己。順流而東行,至於北海,東面而視,不見水端。於是焉河伯始旋其面目,望洋向若而歎曰:「野語有之曰:『聞道百以為莫己若者』,我之謂也。且夫我嘗聞少仲尼之聞而輕伯夷之義者,始吾弗信;今我睹子之難窮也,吾非至於子之門則殆矣,吾長見笑於大方之家。」

  北海若曰:「否。夫物,量无窮,時无止,分无常,終始无故。是故大知觀於遠近,故小而不寡,大而不多:知量无窮。證曏今故,故遙而不悶,掇而不跂,知時无止;察乎盈虛,故得而不喜,失而不憂,知分之无常也;明乎坦塗,故生而不說,死而不禍,知終始之不可故也。計人之所知,不若其所不知;其生之時,不若未生之時;以其至小求窮其至大之域,是故迷亂而不能自得也。由此觀之,又何以知(毫)[豪]末之足以定至細之倪!又何以知天地之足以窮至大之域!」

  河伯曰:「世之議者皆曰:『至精无形,至大不可圍。』是信情乎?」
